The dick decided to rush a ground force to take Washington's capitol from me after I did all the work bringing it down to no health. He begged for peace right as I was mounting a counter invasion, but apparently his aggression pissed off Pachacuti who wanted an alliance to wipe him out. He came at me with everything and I thought I was going to get steamrolled, but my archers had the high ground and just mowed his entire army down. I spread out early and it pissed Washington off. RNG started me and 2 computers on one smallish island, and the 4th on an even larger island that Hiawatha had to himself almost the entire game.

He basically gave me everything but his capital to leave him alone. He realized his mistake when he attacked me, as I destroyed his army and advanced into his territory with a huge force. I love wonder rushing and had most of the miltary ones so my troops started with multiple levels and I pumped em out fast. After exhausting our territory on the smaller island, Pacachuti came at me with everything.

Better to play "tall" (fewer cities but larger and higher pop.) than "wide" in my experience. Once you get to 4 population in your capital go for a settler, and try to get 4 cities out ASAP. As soon as you can go Rationalism and continue to science policies until you pick an ideology.
